MONTGOMERY, TX, July 5, 2007 - Susan Love Fitts Communications, who heads up the Montgomery County-based public relations firm of Susan Love Fitts Communications, has been honored by the Hermes Creative Awards 2007 Competition with a Gold Award in the publicity category.

Fitts won the award for her campaign for "The Colors of Our Lives," the 2007 Historic Houston Heights Spring Home & Garden Tour, a major fundraising event for the Houston Heights Association (HHA).

Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional and emerging media. Judges from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.

A series of press releases and media pitches by Fitts resulted in an overwhelming response from the media, including a full-page Houston Chronicle feature article by design editor Maggie Galehouse. A pitch to Houston CBS affiliate KHOU-TV producers resulted in a major segment on local lifestyle show Great Day Houston, featuring a walk-through tour of one of the historic homes on the tour with reporter Cristina Terrill.

"Susan did a remarkable job," said Kelly Simmons, with the HHA Spring Home Tour Committee. Proceeds from the event went to maintain community areas, including the historic Houston Heights City Hall and Fire Station, and neighborhood parks and playgrounds.
