HOUSTON, May 1, 2007 - Prudential Gary Greene Realtors has announced that plans are underway for the 15th Annual Sunshine Kids Celebrity Golf Classic and Celebration.

Craig Biggio, of the Houston Astros, and his wife, Patty, are returning as the celebrity hosts of the celebration and auction, which will begin at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, June 9, at the Hornberger Conference Center, 2151 W. Holcombe.

The Celebrity Golf portion is set for Monday, June 11, 7:30 a.m. at the Wildcat Golf Club, 12000 Almeda Road.

Biggio said that he and his wife have been involved in The Sunshine Kids Celebrity Golf Classic for over 10 years. "Each year more people become involved, and each year we raise more money for the Kids," said Biggio. "In all our personal and professional accomplishments, we have enjoyed no greater privilege than to share some time with The Sunshine Kids. In sports coverage, commentators are always using phrases like 'courage' and 'heart.' The Kids show us the real meaning of these terms."

The Sunshine Kids Celebrity Golf Classic is a nonprofit, publicly supported foundation that has raised more than $2.1 million to support The Sunshine Kids Foundation in the last 14 years.

Established in 1982 in Houston, The Sunshine Kids Foundation supports more than 1,400 children and their families, and is dedicated to providing positive group activities, free of charge, for children with cancer. This includes local activities in the Greater Houston area, as well as trips for children across the United States. The Sunshine Kids Foundation is not dependent on government funding. All monies come from individuals, foundations and corporations.
