HOUSTON, April 16, 2007 - When embarking on a career change, most people spend their first year learning the ropes and settling into their new environment. However, it didn't take Wendy Roloff long to experience the success that earned her a Rookie of the Year award at Prudential Gary Greene Realtors.

Roloff received her award March 9 during the company's award ceremonies at the Marriott Westchase in Houston. The honor solidified Roloff's decision to leave her background in business marketing and focus on her passion - real estate.

"Wendy comes to our company with a master's degree in marketing which she uses very successfully in her real estate career. She has a professional demeanor which clients find reassuring,” said Sharon Teusink, manager of Prudential Gary Greene's Champions office, where Roloff works.

"I had been thinking about being a Realtor since 1981 and have been in the real estate community since 1987 as an investor,” she said. "It always fascinated me.”

Roloff, a native of New York and a married mother of two, said she has put her national and international marketing skills and her knack for quickly learning new computer software to good use since she came to Prudential Gary Greene.

"My marketing background has helped me identify the right audience that I feel would respond well to my personality - how to advertise to that audience, what to say, how to say it and how to reach them,” she said. "My prior experience also helps me identify the key elements that will sell a particular home, who will be the potential buyer and how to select and develop the right marketing tools to promote the home.”

Roloff made the decision to come to Prudential Gary Greene with her success in mind. She said the company has a great reputation and works hard to support, train and mentor its agents rather than sending them out on their own with little or no direction or assistance.

"I was making a complete career change and wanted all the support and training I could get to have the chance to be successful.”
