Luby’s Announces 18 Restaurants Will Open Today in Houston, Texas

Houston, TX September 16, 2008 - Luby's, Inc. (NYSE: LUB) today announced that eighteen Luby’s restaurants will open today in Houston, Texas following the impact of Hurricane Ike.

Luby’s restaurants in the Houston area will open at 11:00 a.m. and will close in accordance with the various county and city curfews. These restaurants will serve limited menus based on supplies, while supplies last.

Luby’s will continue to provide updates on store openings through it’s website at www.lubys.com.

“Our goal is to work rapidly within the restraints of the current situation and to open our restaurants as quickly as possible. We believe our restaurants provide a much needed public service and we are doing everything we can to open stores and provide hot meals to the community. As the days progress we hope to open more locations. Our employee’s dedication and hard work are extraordinary, as are the communities we serve,” said Chris Pappas, President and CEO.
