ComedySportz Celebrates Fourteen Years With Benefit For Gilda's Club
Houston, Texas, October 8, 2004 ComedySportz, Houston’s longest running improvisational comedy show, will celebrate fourteen years with a benefit for Gilda's Club, a free, emotional and social support community for people with cancer and their family and friends. This special performance will take place at The Country Playhouse, 12802 Queensbury Lane, on Sunday, November 14, 2004 at 7:00pm. The event will showcase all members of the current ComedySportz troupe as well as former ComedySportz players from all over the country. A Silent Auction will also be held that evening, beginning at 6:00pm.
Comedian Gilda Radner reclaimed her gift of laughter and feeling of control when she joined with others who also had cancer. She discovered hope and a way to share the wisdom of experience while learning strategies to live with cancer through Gilda’s Club. ComedySportz has long believed in the tremendous healing power of humor, performing benefit performances for local and national charities every year.
