About Houston Business.com™

Welcome to HoustonBusiness.com™, Houston's Address for Doing Business™. HoustonBusiness.com™ is owned by a Houston-based marketing and media company headed by two local businessmen: Kevin J. Price and Henry J. Fasthoff, IV. HoustonBusiness.com™ offers all businesses, large and small, the opportunity to strategically position themselves before the eyes of Houston-area businesses and consumers (that’s “money-spenders”) by covering the full spectrum of marketing media: Internet, radio, television, outdoor, print, and email.

         1.       Internet

The number one advantage of our site is its name: HoustonBusiness.com™. Every day, thousands of Internet users search the Internet using the search phrase “houston business” (or something similar). By tapping into the strength of HoustonBusiness.com’s™ Online Marketing Division, since taking over the site December 2003 the website traffic to HoustonBusiness.com™ has increased exponentially.

                   a.       Mission-Critical Content & Information

The HoustonBusiness.com™ site contains extensive useful information and content that is critical to the success and progress of Houston area businesses. We provide articles written by local area experts and commentators on finance, business, sales, insurance, legal, and other related issues; news feeds focusing on business news; a business calendar on which visitors may post their business events; business magazines at up to 90% off the cover price; and a business classified ads section, among many other features.

                   b.       Business Directory Structured by Neighborhood & Category

The HoustonBusiness.com™ Directory is divided into different “Business Neighborhoods.” This unique feature will allow small business owners who operate only in a single location, and who usually have small advertising budgets, to advertise in a very specific location. Prospective customers searching the site will be able to find single-location small businesses due to the neighborhood directory feature. This feature is incredibly important to business advertisers. After all, a customer in Sugar Land is not likely to drive to The Woodlands or Pasadena to make purchases due to the extraordinary driving distances and travel times. The Business Neighborhood feature is also important to larger businesses that operate in multiple areas because they will be able to list each of their locations, rather than having to rely on a single listing in an area clear on the other side of the Houston metroplex.

                   c.       Exclusive Sections Devoted Advertisers

HoustonBusiness.com™ has five sections that showcase HoustonBusiness.com™ advertisers that are currently running advertisements in our other media: On Radio, On Television, In Print, Outdoors, and the Houston Business Review newsletter. Each of these sections is devoted exclusively to featuring businesses that are simultaneously running television, outdoor, radio, print, and/or newsletter advertisements in conjunction with HoustonBusiness.com™, along with pricing and advertising information that describes how companies can take advantage of our multimedia marketing and advertising program.

         2.       Radio

Mr. Kevin Price, host of the Houston Business Show that airs on Sundays at noon on AM 650, is one of the principals of the company that owns HoustonBusiness.com™. HoustonBusiness.com™ is the flagship sponsor of the Houston Business Show and the site receives daily radio promotion on AM 650, as well as promotion during every segment of the Houston Business Show.

         3.       Outdoor

HoustonBusiness.com™ has three highly visible billboards in heavily populated areas around Houston. Each of the three billboards features the HoustonBusiness.com™ name, logo, and color scheme, and features dynamic advertisements-by-the-day using the HoustonBusiness.com™ Dynamic Billboard System™. Approximately 390,000 vehicles pass by our billboards every day. HoustonBusiness.com™ advertisers are offered the opportunity to purchase daily advertising on the billboards that will allow them to create an even greater marketing synergy in conjunction with their Business Directory listings on HoustonBusiness.com™.

         4.       Television

HoustonBusiness.com™ offers inexpensive television commercial campaigns that reach more than 2,000,000 (two million) people in more than 784,000 homes in the Houston area. One campaign format consists of 100 30-second commercials run over a 30-day period. In order to obtain the incredibly low rates we are able to offer, three businesses share the cost of the advertisement. Each advertiser is featured on each commercial for approximately 10 seconds. The stations that may air the commercials include some of the most popular cable channels: ESPN, ESPN2, A&E, Fox News Channel, Fox Sports, CNN, USA Network, FX, CNBC, Bravo, MTV, History Channel, Comedy Central, CNN Headline News, VH-1, TBS Superstation, Spike TV, Sci-Fi Channel, Weather Channel, TV-Guide channel The Discovery Channel, BET, E! Entertainment, The Learning Channel, Nick at Nite, Nickelodeon, The Food Network, Galavision, Fox Sports World Español, The Travel Channel.

         5.       Houston Business Review Newsletter

HoustonBusiness.com™ emails a weekly newsletter to numerous people who have opted in and subscribed to the newsletter. It contains useful business and marketing information, and every issue promotes several of the HoustonBusiness.com™ advertisers and companies listed in the HoustonBusiness.com™ Business Directory. The newsletter can also be read online at the HoustonBusiness.com™ website.

HoustonBusiness.com’s™ Sponsorship of Sports Teams, Festivals & Events

HoustonBusiness.com™ is always looking for opportunities to sponsor and support local events, festivals, shows and sports teams. Some of our current sponsorships include deals with the Houston Stealth of the National Women’s Basketball League; the Beaumont Drillers of the National Indoor Football League; and Jane Goodall’s and Erin Brockovich’s lectures produced by Unique Lives & Experiences, presenters of North America’s foremost women’s lecture series.

Compare Us to other “citybusiness.com” Sites

So many dotcom companies have failed; why should I advertise with this one? First, to paraphrase Mark Twain, rumors of the death of the Internet were greatly exaggerated. Second, we’re not a pure “dotcom” company. Yes, our flagship advertising vehicle is our namesake website, but we are a full-fledged marketing and media company offering businesses promotion opportunities online, on radio, on television, outdoors, and in print.

Website addresses such as HoustonBusiness.com™ are popular around the country. For example, Crain’s Communications, Inc., publisher of Advertising Age, TelevisionWeek, Investment News, Autoweek, and B2B trade publications (to name just a few) owns NewYorkbusiness.com, LosAngelesbusiness.com, Chicagobusiness.com, Clevelandbusiness.com, and Denverbusiness.com, among others. Some of these sites provide content similar that offered by the Houston Business Journal. But, none of these sites provides a business directory where people looking for local businesses can find them, nor do they provide support for their site with radio, television, and outdoor advertising.

A comparison between the services offered by HoustonBusiness.com™ to those of “citybusiness.com” sites illustrates why HoustonBusiness.com™ is superior:

City Site Online Directory Radio Support TV Support Outdoors Support
HoustonBusiness.com YES YES YES YES
NewYorkBusniess.com NO NO NO NO
ChicagoBusiness.com NO NO NO NO
DetroitBusiness.com NO NO NO NO
ClevelandBusiness.com NO NO NO NO
