Received an Employer Identification Number? If you have employees or have a Partnership, Limited Liability Company, or Corporation, you must apply for an EIN. www.irs.gov
Received a sales tax permit? If you business sells goods you need sales tax permit. Even if your business is mixed with labor and sales you need a permit. www.cpa.state.tx.us/
Been made aware of the various licensing requirements for the state? Building contractors, auto mechanics, hairdressers, and private investigators require state licensing. www.state.tx.us/agency/agencies.htm
Been serving alcohol? Make sure you have a state liquor license.

Been made ware of the local building codes? If you will be remodeling commercial space, you will need to check the local building codes to see if you need a building permit. (713) 535-7732
Been running from your home or commercial space? Whether you are working from home or from a commercial space, check local zoning laws. If you live in a condo or planned community, make sure its bylaws allow you to operate a home based business.
