A Life Insurance Policy is a Valuable Asset, Just like your home, Stocks, Bonds, IRA, or 401-K. But keeping an old one in force is not always your best option If one of the following occur
- A need for Income or Cash/liquidly
- An underperforming policy
- Unaffordable Premiums
- A reduction in your Estate size
- Long term Health Care Needs.
- Sale of a Business
- Political change in estate tax reform
- Cashing out key man insurance
What a Life Settlement is
A life settlement allows you to free yourself from the policies that no longer serve your needs and allows you to tap into money you can use now, for any of the above reasons. You can far exceed your cash surrender value that your insurance company offers you, so you may want to check into a life settlement before you surrender your policy, or let it lapse. An investment firm purchases your policy and pays you cash for the policy, The age and health conditions actually determine How much you would get for your policy.
How can it help you:
- To make your retirement more enjoyable
- Provide funds for needed medical care
- Compensate for loss of retirement income
- Reinvest the money into better performing options
- To buy a more cost effective life policy
- Make charitable donations more efficient
- To do the things in life you've always wanted to do.
Eligibility for a Life Settlement
- You must be at least 62 years old
- The Face value of your life policy must be at least $100,000
- The Life policy must be at least two years Old.
Examples of who uses a life settlement:
- a 76 year old male
- Policy value $750000
- Cash Surrender of policy: $43,100
- Life Settlement of Policy: $147000
Why he sold the policy
Wanted the money to purchase home and move to Florida
Example #02
- 80 year old female,
- Policy value 1,000,000
- Surrender value: $47,000
- Life Settlement: $205,000
Reason sold:
- Had a paid up policy and no longer needed it due to changes in her estate taxes.
- Wanted Education funds for grand kids, to go to college the next year.
You must get your policy evaluated by a Top Settlement Firm, and have the settlement firm find the highest bid for your policy, They must be an Ethical firm and one That only deals in the Life Settlement arrangements. You want a Focused firm that does nothing else.
