Houston Business Show Is Proud To Announce Our New Business Advisor, Gary Cooper By HBR Staff
GARY N. COOPER, CPA, is managing partner of Cooper, Bergman & Company, L.L.P., certified public accountants which was formed in 1991, assisting small businesses and individuals with accounting, consulting and income tax planning and compliance. Services provided include medical practice consulting, business valuation, assistance with buy/sell transactions, development and implementation of policies and procedures, accounting services and tax compliance and planning. The Company has office in Plano and Houston, Texas.
OVERVIEW OF EXPERIENCE
Mr. Cooper began his career with a major international firm where he served in the audit division. Mr. Cooper also held positions in industry with publicly traded companies as chief financial officer, chief accounting officer and corporate treasurer.
PUBLIC ACCOUNTING EXPERIENCE
His professional experience in public accounting included audit engagements in medical, real estate, financial institutions, and hospitality. He has worked with companies ranging in size from large, multi-national corporations to small closely held companies. Mr. Cooper has also assisted individuals, partnerships and closely held corporations with financial reporting, tax planning and compliance and specialized consulting engagements.
CORPORATE INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
His professional experience with corporations includes performing the job functions of chief financial officer, chief accounting officer and corporate treasurer. Mr. Cooper has also been involved in several public registrations, performed due diligence procedures for various acquisitions and was largely responsible for re-engineering the operations of several large multi-location corporations.
TEACHING
Mr. Cooper was an instructor for CPE, Inc. where he taught SEC Reporting, Compilations and Reviews and Initial Public Offerings to members of his profession. Mr. Cooper developed a class for Technology Institute on the difference in US and Mexican GAAP. Further, he has written and made presentations to other CPA firms on SEC, GAAP updates and compilations and reviews. Mr. Cooper also makes presentations to non-CPA groups on How to Read Financial Statements, Controlling Employee Irregularities, Policies and Procedures and How to Operate and Effective Business.
